Synopsis

This course provides essential insights into safe and effective sedation techniques within the dental office setting. General dentists will gain practical knowledge to enhance patient experiences and improve procedural outcomes.

    • Overview of nitrous oxide/oxygen, oral sedation, and IV sedation.

    • Assessing patient eligibility for sedation.  
    • Identifying contraindications and risk factors. 
  • Pharmacology and Drug Selection
    • Review of sedative agents commonly used in dentistry.
    • Choosing appropriate medications based on patient needs.
  • Monitoring and Safety Measures
    • Monitoring techniques during sedation procedures.  
    • Emergency protocols and resuscitation readiness.
