Synopsis
This hands-on class will be focused on surgical techniques in periodontics. Guild your surgical repertoire and increase your complexity of procedures by learning some fundamentals as well as a few advanced periodontal surgical techniques from board certified periodontists. Surgical tissue models will be provided on which attendees can practice procedures including extractions, site preservation and ridge augmentation focusing on surgical techniques including flap design, flap management and suturing techniques.
Objectives
- Gain experience with incision design and flap management
- Become proficient in identifying ridge deficiencies and the adequate biomaterials available for such conditions
- Master suturing techniques to aid in flap adaptation and tension-free closure
