AM Session - How to Detect Early Orthodontic Issues
Pediatric dentists and general dentists have the chance to diagnose any dental or skeletal problems in children and young adults, and can detect their orthodontic problems during their youth. Dentists who treat pediatric patients should have understanding in growth and development of occlusion of young patients. This lecture will discuss different cases, the best timing to treat different orthodontic problems. There will also be an overview of pediatric orthodontic appliances, including removable versus fixed appliances, as well as information on how to maintain proper space management in orthodontic patients.
- To know how to detect early orthodontic issues.
- Understand the use of removable and fixed orthodontic treatment for phase I.
- To be able to diagnose and make decisions of which case should be referred to an orthodontist.
PM Session - Oral Sedation Review and How to Prevent Complications in Dental Oral/IV Sedation
Oral sedation is a very complex issue, but it is important for all dentists to learn. This course is going to review the sedation medications, patient selection, and also monitoring. It is crucial for practitioners to be able to identify possible complications and reactions of oral/IV sedation, and to provide optimal sedation procedures.
