LLUSD assistant professor works to improve oral health of SBDO County grade school children

Surveys of a combined 6,957 San Bernardino kindergarteners and first graders conducted by Marjorie Arnett, MS, assistant professor of Educational Services at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, between 2013 and 2015 revealed that less than 10 percent owned tooth brushes, five percent did not have toothpaste, and 25 percent reported tooth pain.

Margie Arnett (center) receives toothbrush donation toward her 2016-17 research project from students and personnel of the California State University, San Bernardino Office of Extended Education.

The April 8, 2016, San Bernardino Sun report on Ms. Arnett’s efforts to improve the oral health of the county’s school children can be read by clicking here.
