Loma Linda University School of Dentistry accepts gifts of securities*. These may be appreciated or depreciated, and you may receive some tax benefits for either kind. Gifts of long-term appreciated stocks or bonds entitle you to two benefits: There is no capital gains tax payable, and you may use the securities' fair market value on the date of the gift to compute the income tax charitable deduction. With depreciated securities, you will benefit the most if they are sold first and the proceeds contributed to Loma Linda University Health.
